In an editorial today, The Farmington Daily-Times questions how the Navajo Nation could have spent $2.2 million for an Olympic pavilion but not approve $2.4 million to start work to repair a crumbling student dormitory.

The paper doesn't outright criticize the tribe's decision to fund the pavilion, which drew thousands of visitors and was by all measures a hit. But the paper says the construction project is just as important.

"This isn't yes or no situation," the paper writes. "Both the pavilion and the Navajo Prep dorms could play integral parts in the future for those on the reservation."
