FRIDAY, DECEMBER 7, 2001 Gary Annino: "It is very disappointing that the governor, whose Republican Party usually champions states' rights over federal encroachment (the 2000 presidential election debacle notwithstanding), chooses to defer totally to the federal government regarding Indian issues. This gubernatorial cop-out contributes to the erosion of the rights and “quality of life” of thousands of southeastern Connecticut residents. . ."
