Two South Dakota white teenagers have been charged with aggravated assault charges for shooting at members of the Crow Creek Tribe's girls basketball team.

The incident occurred Novemer 1 after a game between the team and a high school in Miller. Racial taunts were heard during the game and the tensions continued afterwards, leading to gunshots fired at five members of the team and their adult friend.

The two teenagers are facing six charges of aggravated assault. The local prosecutor is seeking to move the case to adult court.

Crow Creek tribal leaders are seeking federal hate crime charges. The U.S. Attorney is not commenting on any potential inquiry.
