SEPTEMBER 14, 2000 A sacred Tibetan sand panting, or mandala, was destroyed by children at a Connecticut hospital. A security camera captured two children wiping away the intricate sand painting, which a group of 10 Tibetan monks had begun on Tuesday. Although the paintings are eventually destroyed to represent the impermanence of life, this one hadn't yet been completed. The group said it will begin another mandala. Get the Story:
