This past Friday, the South Dakota State Fair held its first Native American Day since 1920.

The day featured entertainment, cultural presentations and speakers. It started with a run with 1964 Olympic gold medalist Billy Mills, who is Oglala Lakota.

State Rep. Ron Volesky, D-Huron, who is of Indian descent, pushed for the day.
