Funds sought for Okla. Indian museum

FRIDAY, AUGUST 3, 2001 Oklahoma's Congressional delegation is supporting a bill that would provide $30 million in funds to help construct the Native American Cultural Center and Museum in Oklahoma City. The funds would be provided over four years for the museum, which would be part of the Smithsonian Institution. The money would complement state and private donations. The state wants to spend 150 million on the museum, which is scheduled for completion by 2007. Get the Story:
