AUGUST 17, 2000 Oklahoma state Senator and artist Enoch Kelly Haney, Seminole Nation of Oklahoma, says his family has always been Democrats and that the party has always shown him respect, as a human. Haney has been at the Democratic National Convention this week with the state's delegation. He said that while the Republicans had 4 Native American delegates, the Democrats have 98. Other members of the state delegation say the GOP's attempt at inclusion is just an illusion. Jesse Jackson used similar words in his speech before the convention on Tuesday. Get the Story:
