AUGUST 16, 2000 Vice-Presidential candidate Joe Lieberman told the Congressional Black Caucus, the Democratic National Committee's Black Caucus, and others that he supports affirmative action. Lieberman on Tuesday told key African-American members of the party of his history of involvement in civil rights issues. Some leaders had expressed concerns that Lieberman did not support affirmative action. Get the Story:
