AUGUST 15, 2000 Television ads attacking Senator Slade Gorton's environmental record in his home state of Washington began airing yesterday. The ads are part of a campaign sponsored by the First American Education Project, a non-profit organization in Washington dedicated to education the public about Gorton's history. The FAEP hopes their effort will help get Gorton out of office. The project is chaired by Ron Allen, chairman of the Jamestown S'Kallam Tribe of Washington. The tribe is one of a dozen who have endorsed Gorton foe, Democrat Maria Cantwell, in the upcoming election. Get the Story:
