EDITORIAL: Pueblo landfill

JULY 19, 2000 Its its editorial, "Care, openness urged for Cuyamungue landfill," The Santa Fe New Mexican today urges Nambe Pueblo to be more open and hold a public meeting about their plans to develop a landfill in northern New Mexico. The editorial says there is concern over contamination seepage from the landfill into the water supply of the area. The editorial also says the Pueblo should work closely with state and federal environmental officials to ensure public safety. The BIA has approved the Pueblo's plans to build a 100-acre landfill on Pueblo land near US 84/285. Relevant Links:
