THURSDAY, JULY 12, 2001

The city of Denver, Colorado, will again see competing events on Columbus Day, a reminder of last year's protests which resulted in the arrest of more than 140 American Indians and their supporters.

An Italian group will hold a parade to honor Columbus on October 8. A multicultural coalition will hold counter-events preceding, on, and after Columbus Day.
