JULY 12, 2000

Jessie Robie, a Mi'kmaq and recent graduate of the Sanborn Regional High School in New Hampshire wants the school board to consider removing the school's Indian mascot. She made the call during her salutatorian speech at last month's graduation ceremonies.

The school board plans on taking action later this fall, after students and teachers return and the issue can be further discussed.
