JUNE 18, 2001

The Tulalip Tribes held a ceremony over the weekend to welcome and honor the first king salmon catch of the season.

Known as "Haik Ciaub Yo Bauch," the king salmon got the royal treatment, so to speak, during the ceremony. The first fish was carried ashore by two men on a bed of ferns where it was served to every one who attended.
