Acting on a report published by the Argus Leader, the Department of Justice will send FBI officials to investigate allegations of racial profiling in Charles Mix County, South Dakota.

That report included comments by Wagner Police Chief Ed Zylstra, who said the department runs checks on all Indian-operated vehicles whether or not the driver has committed an offense.

Yankton Sioux residents have felt targeted by the police since criminal jurisdiction was returned to the state last year following a long legal dispute.
