MAY 24, 2000 Town officials from North Stonington and Preston met last night to watch the 60 Minutes II segment "Are Pequots Really Pequots?" While they commented that the segment was too short and did not go into any gaming and federal recognition issues, they were happy to see national coverage on their opposition to the Pequot tribes of Connecticut. One town official's comments during the segment:
"What ever happened to one nation under God indivisible? I have a real problem with this country being set up where there are different rights for different groups - different privileges, different immunities."
