APRIL 17, 2001 There's a new database being launched today that will make it easier for Americans search for their ancestors, but only if they came through Ellis Island. Ellis Island and the Mormon church will be unveiling the database today. It can be accessed at Ellis Island or the Internet and contains records of an estimated 22 million immigrants who entered the port of New York from 1892 to 1924. Get the Story:
