FEBRUARY 27, 2001

A Seattle, Washington, man plans on erecting a wooden statue of Chief Seattle on land he owns near a local freeway.

Dominic Gospodo says it will be a tribute to tribes and will include designs chosen by local tribes. He also is planning on building a memorial to Mother Teresa and Holocaust victims.

The entire project will cost $300,000, says Gospodo.
