FEBRUARY 22, 2001 "The fact that U.S. Rep. Rob Simmons is submitting legislation to seek federal aid in addition to state funds is commendable, but residents of Montville and Ledyard need to contact their state legislators as well as the governor to ask how the only true 'host' towns in Connecticut can receive less funds than 'impacted' towns in southeastern Connecticut? Taxpayers in Ledyard should confront their mayor on why he sides with 'impacted' towns like Preston and North Stonington in including them as 'host' towns?" Get the Story:
