MacDonald unable to attend celebration

FEBRUARY 12, 2001 Peter MacDonald was unable to attend a welcome home celebration held for him on Saturday in Farmington, New Mexico due to his health condition. The former Navajo Nation leader was expected to appear but had to cancel on Saturday morning. MacDonald has diabetes, arthritis, and has suffered several heart attacks. President Bill Clinton last month commuted MacDonald's 14-year prison sentence. Get the Story:
