DECEMBER 13, 2000 Leaders of the American Indian Movement in Colorado have refused to attend a meeting over a Columbus Day parade in Denver because some of the participants are "liars." The meeting is being held today by members of the Denver clergy over next year's parade. But leaders of AIM said they won't attend because they feel it is useless to negotiate with the city and Italian-American organizers who withdrew from an earlier agreement not to use Columbus' name in the parade.
