OCTOBER 6, 2000

With an 8 percent Indian population, Native American voters in Montana are seen as being able to affect the outcome of several elections in the state.

Native Action, a non-profit organization based on the Northern Cheyenne reservation, has been urging tribal members to register to vote. The Honor the Earth tour, which opened on the reservation in Lame Deer last weekend, is donating money to the group.
