Editorial: Norton's 'shameful' behavior

MONDAY, OCTOBER 22, 2001 In an editorial, The Denver Post criticizes home-grown Secretary of Interior and former Colorado Attorney General Gale Norton for her "shameful behavior" in handling the trust fund. The paper says Norton can't be blamed for problems that have festered for the past 100 years. But the paper says she is responsible for submitting an "untruthful, inaccurate, and incomplete" report to a federal judge overseeing a class action lawsuit against her department. If she has received bad advice on the trust fund, the paper says she should "dump the slackers." Get the Story:
