MONDAY, OCTOBER 22, 2001

The Alaska Commission on Tolerance will hold its final hearings this week to address racism, intolerance and related issues in the state.

The commission will hold a hearing in Kenai on Monday and in Anchorage on Tuesday. The panel will then create a report and submit it to Gov. Tony Knowles by November 30.

Knowles created the panel after three white males videotaped themselves attacking Alaska Natives with a paint-ball gun. The one adult involved in the crime wants to be let out of jail early.
