AUGUST 14, 2000 John Brown, tribal preservation officer of the Narragansett Tribe of Rhode Island, attended the recent meeting discussing the federal recognition of two Pequot tribes in Connecticut. Brown was mistakingly identified as Chief Sachem Matthew Thomas. Related Stories:
