MAY 3, 2001 At the request of Pueblo residents, Vietnam veteran Bennie Salas has started up his archery club at Zia Pueblo once again. Salas first started the Zia Indian Archers in the early 1960s after returning from Vietnam. It stopped after he left the state. But last August, he started the archery club because some of his former students have children of their own and want them to participate. Consisting of nine members ages 4 to 24, the club competes in Olympic archery events throughout the state. Get the Story:
