McCaleb aide reports friend to FBI
MONDAY, APRIL 22, 2002 A former business partner of Wayne Smith, the deputy to Assistant Secretary Neal McCaleb, promised potential tribal clients great access to the federal government. Now, it seems, the tables have been turned. Smith has asked the FBI and the Department of Interior to investigate Phil Bersinger. Bersinger sent letters to at least two tribes, saying his close relationship with Smith would help their causes. Get the Story:
