White House looking into McCaleb aide
FRIDAY, APRIL 19, 2002 The White House is looking into allegations that a former business partner of Wayne Smith, the deputy to Assistant Secretary Neal McCaleb, is exploiting his ties to get lobbying work, Al Kamen of The Washington Post reports today. In his "In The Loop" column, Kamen says the White House counsel's office is investigating. TIME magazine first reported this week on Phil Bersinger's attempt to solicit business by playing up his relationship to Smith. Get the Story:
