FRIDAY, MARCH 29, 2002

Army Secretary and former Enron executive Thomas E. White is the subject of an internal Department of Defense probe over his use of military aircraft.

White and his wife traveled on a military plane from Dallas, Texas, to Seattle, Washington. He had business at both locations.

But in between, he and his wife stopped in Aspen, Colorado, and spent the weekend. While there, he signed papers to sell his $6.5 million home.

After this trip was disclosed by The Washington Post, Army officials said it was part of the "shadow government" rotation.
