A Montana county may not be appealing a federal judge's ruling which found its voting system to discriminate against Native Americans.

An attorney who represented Blaine County initially said an appeal was in the works. But county officials said they haven't decided yet.

Mountain States Legal Foundation, a Colorado firm which once employed Secretary of Interior Gale Norton, has been handling the case. Assistant Secretary for Land and Minerals Management Rebecca W. Watson was helping the county prior to joining the Bush administration.
