THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 28, 2002

Bruce Meyers resigned last week as coordinator for Montana's Office of Indian Affairs, citing his diabetes and health and family issues.

In leaving, Meyers praised Gov. Judy Martz for working to improve relations with the state's tribes. Martz last year visited all seven reservations and is set to meet with tribes to discuss public health and human service programs, education, economic development and corrections.

Martz named Meyers to the post in June 2001.
