A federal judge will decide in the coming weeks whether to sanction Secretary of Interior Gale Norton and Assistant Secretary Neal McCaleb for their handling of the Individual Indian Money (IIM) trust fund.

The situation doesn't look good, considering the problems U.S. District Judge Royce Lamberth has highlighted recently. The Internet shutdown that has prevented payments from going to Indian landowners, a request to disclose private financial data of account holders and the failure to disclose the status of a $40 million software system are but a few of the issues that trouble him.
