Mohegan Tribe removes political ad

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 28, 2001 The Mohegan Tribe of Connecticut has removed a political advertisement for Norwich mayoral candidate Johnny London because he did not have permission to place the sign on tribally-owned property. The sign was on the grounds of the Uncas Memorial, a former Masonic temple. London said a tribal worker said it was acceptable to put a sign there unless tribal officials objected.
