Pa. governor named to new Cabinet post

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 21, 2001 President Bush on Thursday announced the creation of a Cabinet-level post dedicated to domestic security, naming Pennsylvania Governor Tom Ridge to the new position. A decorated Vietnam veteran, Ridge will use the Office of Homeland Security to develop a national plan against domestic terrorist attacks.
