Bush returning early from 'vacation'

THURSDAY, AUGUST 30, 2001 President Bush is cutting short his "working vacation" by a few days and returns to Washington, DC, where he faces a battle over the budget. At a speech yesterday to the American Legion in Texas, Bush defended his tax cut amid the government's shrinking surplus and said there'll be enough money to increase spending on defense.
