WEDNESDAY, JULY 25, 2001 Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle (D-S.D.) joined consumer advocates on Tuesday in denouncing Mary Sheila Gall, President Bush's pick to run the Consumer Product Safety Commission. Critics charge that Gall, as a current commissioner, has made a number of bad decisions affecting child safety. She has voted against new regulations for baby and child products. Gall's confirmation hearing will take place before the Senate Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee today at 9:30 AM Eastern Standard Time. An Internet audio feed is available from the CapitolHearings.Org web site. Listen to the Hearing:
