Bombing resumes on Vieques

JUNE 19, 2001 The Navy resumed bombing exercises on the Puerto Rican island of Vieques on Monday, arresting 14 activists for trespassing on military property. Jackie Jackson, wife of the Rev. Jesse Jackson, was among those arrested. The protesters have said they will continue to oppose the bombings even though President Bush has said they will end in 2003. Get the Story:
