Suit against website publisher dropped

MAY 2, 2001 A former Clinton White House aide on Monday dropped his $30 million libel suit against web site publisher Matt Drudge. Sidney Blumenthal sued Drudge, publisher of the Drudge Report, over an article suggesting he beat his wife, another White House aide. He has agreed to pay Drudge's lawyer $2,500 in legal costs and said the entire matter has cost him tens of thousands of dollars, Drudge retracted and apologized for his 1997 report. Get the Story:
