APRIL 6, 2001

For some reason, the Miccosukee Tribe of Florida has disappeared. Not off the face of the earth, but in Census 2000.

According to figured released by the Census Bureau, there is no one living on the Miccosukee Reservation in Florida. Census Bureau officials say the reservation population might be included in another census tract but The Miami Herald says that explanation doesn't make much sense.
