APRIL 20, 2001 An Oklahoma Transportation spokesperson on Thursday questioned the timing of a request into Secretary Neal McCaleb's use of state aircraft. Oklahoma Aeronautics and Space Commissioner, William D. Kendrick, is requesting an investigation into McCaleb's use of aircraft. In a letter to Gov. Frank Keating and Attorney General Drew Edmondson, he says McCaleb used the aircraft for personal reasons. Transportation Spokeperson Terri Angier said the charges may be related to an ongoing investigation into the Aeronautics director, Dr. William Miller. McCaleb in February demanded Miller resign, accusing him of using the position to promote a private company. McCaleb is currently Oklahoma Transportation Secretary. He is President Bush's pick to head the Bureau of Indian Affairs. Get the Story:
