JANUARY 23, 2001 With a commitee vote on Secretary of Interior nominee Gale Norton set to take place as early as today, Democrat members of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee are said to be mulling their support of the controversial former Attorney General of Colorado. A vote for Norton could be seen as ignoring their pro-environmental constituency. But at least one Democrat on the committee, Mary Landrieu of Louisiana, has already said she supports Norton. Before the full Senate, Norton only needs a majority to be confirmed. Get the Story:
