DECEMBER 22, 2000 Missouri Senator John Aschcroft, defeated for re-election by recently deceased state Governor Mel Carnahan, has been named to the post of Attorney General by President-elect George W. Bush. Outgoing Montana Governor Marc Racicot had turned down the job. Get the Story:
