Exit poll surveys of African-American voters show that support for Texas Governor George W. Bush was one of the worst in election history.

According to the surveys, African-American voters rejected Bush 9 to 1, matching Republican President Ronald Reagan's showing in 1984. Only Republican Barry Goldwater did worse in 1964.

Should Bush be declared the official winner of the Presidency, political experts say lack of support in the African-American community will be a major problem to overcome.

Meanwhile, an increasing number of protests and complaints over voter irregularites are being alleged by African-American voters in Florida. Although the African-American turnout was large, ballots in predominantly Black precincts were invalidated a higher rates than others.
