THURSDAY, OCTOBER 25, 2001 The South Dakota Legislature on Wednesday approved a new political redistricting map, a victory for state Republicans. The map preserves districts representing the Cheyenne River Sioux and the Standing Rock Sioux reservations. A Democratic attempt to modify the reservations' legislative district was rejected as diluting Native voting power. Get the Story:
