Okla. tribe shuts down casino

TUESDAY, MAY 7, 2002 The Ponca Tribe of Oklahoma has shut down its casino again. The closure is in response to an ongoing problem cited by the National Indian Gaming Commission. The NIGC issued an order last week saying the tribe hasn't met conducted employee background checks and met other minimum control standards. The casino was shut last month then reopened April 12.
