Wyo. gaming goes to mediator

THURSDAY, APRIL 11, 2002 A federal judge on Wednesday ordered mediation between the state of Wyoming and the Northern Arapaho Tribe. The state and the tribe were ordered to come to an agreement on what type of casino games can be offered. But the deadline passed, so U.S. District Judge Alan Johnson said he would appoint a mediator. The tribe wants to expand its offerings to slot machines and the like but the court has so far only allowed calcuttas and pari-mutuels, which are types of Class III games.
