MONDAY, FEBRUARY 11, 2002

After a modest bingo hall start, the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation of Connecticut opened its Foxwoods Resort Casino 10 years ago this week.

Since then, it has reaped untold millions for the tribe and sent just as much to the state's coffers. All throughout, the tribe has withstood legal, political and other attacks over its sovereignty, trust lands and legitimacy.
