Indian-owned tobacco sites targeted

THURSDAY, DECEMBER 20, 2001 Two Democratic state lawmakers in California are planning to introduce a bill to require web sites that sell tobacco products to install age verification software. Assemblyman Dario Frommer said her staff was able to order tobacco products from an Indian-owned web site using the name of a minor. Along with Assemblywoman Helen Thomson, he is sponsoring the bill.
