In an editorial today, The Lincoln Journal Star says a federal judge's ruling in favor of the Santee Sioux Tribe of Nebraska "should be cheered by those who support fair play."

The paper says U.S. Attorney Mike Heavican should not appeal the decision, which said the tribe could operate certain games at its tiny casino without interference from the state or the federal government. But the paper notes that the tribe has already paid a high toll for its attempts to try to bring tribal members out of poverty.
