N.M. AG says no to bike betting

New Mexico Attorney General Patricia Madrid on Tuesday said federal law prevents the state from offering pari-mutuel betting on bicycle races.

Although the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act in 1992 allows exemptions, Madrid said the state does nto meet any of them. Gov. Gary Johnson has been pushing to allow such betting.
