California tribes discuss gaming

SEPTEMBER 21, 2000 All 17 tribes in the San Diego, California, area met on Wednesday with the county Board of Supervisors to discuss the environmental and economic impacts of gaming. The Sycuan, Barona, and Viejas tribes operate casinos in the county. Nine more have been proposed. Board of Supervisors Chairwoman Dianne Jacob has proposed that a tribal liasion be appointed.
